Simply plug it in and any serial input will become a keyboard input - Draws power from USB port. No external power source required. Applications - Connects any serial device to any operating system as a Keyboard. We promise to never spam you, and just use your email address to identify you as a valid customer. Could this be the reason?
I already tried to supply 5V to the Ball with no success. Answer 1 year ago. I don't think CTS matters. But it is crucial that pins 4 and 7 on the RS plug be producing about 9V. Check with a voltmeter. That's where the Spacemouse gets its power. If you can connect RTS, that should do the job.
But for that you may need to use an adapter board based on the CP chip. I don't know if that will work or not, or just blow something up. Also, there are lots of fake Max chips out there, and these are likely to overheat and fry if you use them. I had that happen first time I tried it. Got to try the same adapter you have or try to add external power. Question 1 year ago on Step 3. Weird, I thought it was there.
I added the link. Question 1 year ago. The better solution for multiple optical devices Optipac. I don't know about happs I wouldnt' go there unless you have a real real reason.
The Optipac is great. I haven't upgraded it yet, but think I might just hack a few mice first to try them. USB is a very fast interface for something as low bandwidth as mouse or keyboard input. The main reason that most people use the OptiPac is because you can easily run multiple optical devices trackball and spinner, for instance through one interface. I want a general solution to use usb mice on rs port. I'm new to raspberry capabilities, I'm asking if is possible to connect an usb mouse to raspberry, read, convert the protocol, and output with UART.
The UART will be connected to the old dos computer. These are the mouse protocols you had to send out on the serial port. Quite simple. The only complicated part is, you have to output relative coordinates as the mouse is a relative device. It's easiest not to decode the relative coordinates coming from the USB mouse, but sample the event interface directly and just forward them:.
